Height Safety Engineers will be running public courses in the nationally-recognised RIIHAN301E Operate Elevating Work Platform (Under 11m) this February in Sydney.

This course provides training in the safe operation of an elevating work platform (EWP) under 11 metres in height. EWPs are often used to conduct work at height or to reach raised areas such as roofs.

Participants in the RIIHAN301E course will learn fundamental skills in planning work to be undertaken using an EWP, conducting routine maintenance checks, how to set up the EWP before starting work, safely operating the EWP during work and correctly shutting down and stowing the EWP at the completion of work.

Height Safety Engineers utilises a boom-type EWP for RIIHAN301E Operate Elevating Work Platform (Under 11m) courses. If you require a scissor-lift style EWP, please call 1300 884 978 or email training@heightsafety.net before booking.

Please note although material within this course relates to the National Standard for High Risk Work, successful completion of RIIHAN301E will not qualify a participant to receive a high risk work licence.

RIIWHS204D Work Safely at Heights Training Dates | February

Height Safety Engineers will be running public courses in the nationally-recognised RIIWHS204D Work Safely at Heights this throughout February in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Learn the fundamental skills of working safely at heights or on raised areas with this introductory course in height safety from the experts at Height Safety Engineers.

The course is focused on giving participants strong foundation of knowledge and skills in the areas of relevant legislation and standards covering height safety, how to perform a risk assessment ahead of working at heights and installation of protective control measures.

Participants will also learn how to identify suspension trauma, correct fitting and use of a fall arrest harness. The course will also introduce students to a variety of different fall arrest systems they may find in use at work.

Material in the course will also cover safe use of tolls when working at height, process to select the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) to use in a given circumstance plus how to inspect PPE before and after work to check for wear and tear ensuring it is kept in operational condition and is functioning correctly.

RIIHAN301E Operate Elevating Work Platform (under 11m) public course dates for January 2020 are now available from Height Safety Engineers.

This course teaches participants how to safely operate an elevating work platform (EWP) under 11m. An elevating work platform may be used to conduct work activities at height or to reach raised areas such as roofs.

Participants will learn how to plan work to be undertaken, conducting routine maintenance checks before commencing work, how to set up the EWP in order to complete the work, safe operation of the EWP and correct shutdown and stowing procedures.

At Height Safety Engineers, we use a boom-type EWP for this course, however a scissor-lift style EWP may be able to be provided on request.

For clarification, by “boom-type EWP” we mean a telescoping device, hinged device or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.

Please note although this course contains material related to the National Standard for High Risk Work, successful completion will not result in a participant being eligible to receive a high risk work licence.
