Height Safety Engineers will be running public courses in the nationally-recognised 10559NAT Course in Working Safely with Asbestos Containing Materials across February 2020.

Participants in this course will undertake training in preparation of the work site, how to correctly select and use personal protective equipment (PPE), best practice techniques to safely drill and cut asbestos containing material, plus thorough decontamination processes to complete and the end of work to minimise the risk of exposure to asbestos fibres.

If you are working in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and your employer or other person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) believes there is a reasonable risk of exposure to asbestos containing material, you are required by law to hold a current competency in 10559NAT Course in Working Safely with Asbestos Containing Materials.

Occupations to which this regulation may apply to include, but are not limited to, air-conditioning and mechanical services plumber, air-conditioning and refrigeration technician, data and telecommunications cabler, general and special class electricians, gas fitter, plumber, telecommunications technician, electrical or telecommunications trades assistant or plumber’s assistant.

Please note it is a pre-requisite of this course that a participant already hold a statement of attainment in 10675NAT Course in Asbestos Awareness. Discounted fees are available for participants who combine these courses. See below for further details.
