Height Safety Engineers will be running a first aid and CPR training course at our state-of-the-art Sydney training facility in October 2019.

Successful completion of the first aid and CPR training course qualifies a participants to stand as a first aid representative in their workplace.

This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. It is aimed at those workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Participants will cover responses to choking, anaphylaxis, soft tissue and eye injuries, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, snake bites, bleeding, burns, fractures and more over this full day course.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high quality delivery of training and assessment services in accordance our ECG’s scope of registration.
  • Ensure all training is carried out in accordance with ASQA and AQF standards.
  • Carry out all compliance and legislative requirements.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of training courses.
  • Maintain accurate records for completed training.
  • Liaise with clients and students.
  • Promote opportunities for ongoing company growth.
  • Associated administration as required.
  • Continuously improve through feedback.

 

Requirements

The successful candidate must hold the following qualifications:

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or
  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, plus the following units:
    • TAELLN411 (or its successor) or TAELLN401A, and
    • TAEASS502 (or its successor) or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B, or
  • Diploma or higher level qualification in adult education.

They must also have the ability to facility some or all of the following training courses ECG has on scope:

  • Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
  • Work Safely at Heights
  • Industrial Rescue
  • Vertical Rescue
  • Provide First Aid and CPR
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • White Card
  • HRWL Elevated Work Platform over 11m
  • HRWL Forklift

They should also:

  • Hold a current Australian drivers licence
  • Hold a current Police Check, or be able to obtain one
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check, or be able to obtain one
  • Hold a willingness to travel regionally and interstate where required
  • Hold a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CRMs and general computer skills
  • Demonstrate written and verbal skills to a professional standard
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be highly motivated and able to conform to current policies and procedures

Low Voltage Rescue and CPR Training Course Dates | October

Height Safety Engineers will be holding a training course in low voltage rescue and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at our Melbourne training centre in October.

This course teaches the skills to perform a rescue from a live, low voltage (LV) apparatus and then perform CPR until additional medical support arrives.

Please note this course does not cover rescue from overheard electrical transmission lines or underground cables that carry higher voltage electricity.

Our low voltage rescue and CPR training course will cover identifying hazards, electrical isolation procedures, safe approaches to a live electrical panel, assessment of the casualty, performing CPR and more.

This course designed for anybody working around live, low-voltage electrical apparatus who may be required to respond and remove a person from a live panel in an emergency.

Height Safety Engineers will be running confined space training courses at both Sydney and Melbourne training facilities this October.

Our detailed course is perfect for anybody working in and around confined spaces, and teaches you everything you need to know about making sure safe work practices are adhered to at all times so that everyone involved makes it home at the end of the work day.

Confined space training introduces participants to the key legislation surrounding confined spaces and safe work, the duties of a standby person as well as the various categories of personal protective equipment (PPE) and rescue equipment that is used while working in confined spaces.

This course is run over two full days, giving our students ample time to practice their newly learned skills.

Both 10675NAT Course in Asbestos Awareness and 10559NAT Course in Working Safely in Asbestos Containing Materials are important to have completed if your work has you in places with a high risk of being contaminated with asbestos.

In the ACT, it is compulsory for any worker who may come into contact with asbestos or asbestos containing material to hold both these qualifications. This includes those working in the building, construction, plumbing and plant maintenance industries.

RIIHAN301E Operate elevating work platform provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to operate an elevating work platform under 11 metres.

Please note the work required in this unit relates to the National Standard for High Risk Work but this unit does not provide the licence.

The course covers boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.

Our course focuses on the operation of a boom-type elevating work platform; however, we may also deliver this course using a scissor lift type upon request.

TLILIC0003 Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck provides participants the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely.

Height Safety Engineers will be running classes for their fire warden training course during September.

Fire warden training introduces students to various types of portable firefighting equipment commonly found in work environments and covers how to correctly and safely handle and use fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets. This fire warden training course meets WHS obligations for an organisation to ensure its workforce is competent in using the portable fire extinguishers on your site.

Participants in the fire warden training course will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to recognise emergencies in the workplace, to report emergencies, to take appropriate action, to raise the alarm and how to evacuate building occupants safely.
